Enhancing the Standards of Landscape Design
The Association of Professional Landscape Designers, California Chapter (APLD CA) is dedicated to enhancing the professional standards of the landscape design industry through international certification programs, ongoing education, and networking opportunities for its members. A key focus for the California chapter is promoting resilient and sustainable outdoor environments specifically adapted for the state’s diverse climates. This includes actively supporting the implementation of fire-resistant environments—notably through initiatives like the “Slow the Burn Symposium”—which emphasizes strategic design that incorporates fire-safe hardscape materials and utilizes appropriate, water-wise horticulture proven to thrive while mitigating wildfire risk in California’s unique conditions. APLD CA professionals are dedicated to creating unified, beautiful, and environmentally responsible landscapes tailored to the local environment.
